    This exam covers all assigned materials and lectures from Weeks 1 and 2. I encourage you to begin working on this exam as soon as you begin reviewing the assigned materials to ensure you have sufficient time to ask for clarification as you go. Please note that I will not respond to questions about the over the weekends, so it’s critical that you keep up with the assigned materials/due dates to be successful on this exam.

    To submit your exam, please download the document above, input your responses to each question, and upload your completed exam in Week 2’s module in Canvas.

    In your responses, be sure to engage with, provide specific examples from, and cite** all of the assigned materials from Weeks 1 and 2 (including lectures) to develop and illustrate your points. Remember, these exams are an opportunity for you to:

    Demonstrate you understand the sociological concepts and perspectives examined in the materials;

    Demonstrate an ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to develop your claims; and,

    Demonstrate an ability to use empirical evidence (specific examples) to support your claims.

See page 4 of the handout for examples on in-text citations. You are not required to submit a bibliography, unless you cite material from outside sources. Please note, though, that any outside sources should be used sparingly; your analysis should focus primarily on the assigned materials.
