Once all students have presented Project #1, all students will individually write a paper of the theory/theories presented. This is an easy paper because you have presented the material. Basically, you are writing about the theory you just presented. This is a four page paper that will include:
< a) Page one: is your cover page that requires (centered): your name, institution affiliation, name of class, name of instructor and date of submission < b) Page two and three is your actual paper. Do start of with an introductory paragraph (5-10 sentences) that includes: 1-2 sentences of what the theory is all about, also, why the theory is important to learn, and why the theory is important to understanding small groups and small group communication. < c) Next is the body of the paper that needs to include the following: < ? Who are the author/s of this theory? < ? Provide a brief history of the theory-the how and why this theory came into being. < ? Define the theory: < ? Concepts < ? Principles < ? Rules < ? Explain how/where can this theory be applied to 3 other disciplines outside of Communication Studies. < ? Provide these 3 examples and explanations of how the theory can be applied. < ? How does this theory relate to Small Group communication? < ? How might this theory assist in understanding small groups? < ? How might this theory be applied to some form of social justice? < a) Conclusion paragraph that includes: a summary of what your paper was all about, also, why the theory is important to learn, and why the theory is important to understanding small groups and small group communication. < < b) References or your bibliography of where you found the information of your theory and the journal articles (2 from each student) < Theory that I chose was THE Public Sphere Theory, the 2 authors were Jürgen Habermas < Jürgen Habermas < and Hannah Arendt <
