    Think about and explain, in your own words, how a material object can retain its identity over time, even as it undergoes changes. Provide as an example a material object you’ve possessed in your own life.
    On Page 1 of “The Meaning of Life,” and as he explains/elaborates on following pages, Eagleton takes the seemingly straight-forward position that “meaning is a matter of language, not objects.” Do you agree or disagree?
